A MESSAGE FROM PASTORAL CARE
Dear Parents,
"Pastoral Care is a caring and sharing way to educate."
We have had a smooth start to Pastoral Care for this term. We participated in an Australia wide project which is named “Clean Up Australia†as a part of our Pastoral Care program. It is expected that getting the students involved in such a great event will help to raise awareness of keeping their environment clean. We went to Kids’ Town as it was allocated to us on Friday 3rd March between 2.15 pm and 3.15 pm. Students and teachers cleaned this area together and then they had an icy pole. It was a great way to be involved in this project.
It is more important to have hands-on experiences as researchers have claimed that we learn:
10% - 30% of what we READ
50% of what we HEAR and SEE
70% of what we SAY
90% of what we DO
It is obvious then that we learn best by doing.
So what is the connection between “Clean Up Australia†and Pastoral Care?
We can encourage the students to be mindful of their environment. By looking after it, they will have a better place. We want them to have a bright future and a clean area to live in.
I need to really say thank you to all who helped.
Regards
Mr. Sinan Baydogan
